Over the past few decades, Americans have sorted themselves both geographically and politically resulting in a situation where we can live our daily lives and rarely interact with someone who voted in an opposing manner. Robert Talisse, philosophy professor at Vanderbilt University and author of "Sustaining Democracy: What We Owe to the Other Side," makes this "sorting" clear by comparing and contrasting those who buy coffee at Starbucks and those who buy coffee at Dunkin Donuts.
